New Food: Carrots!

Alas, I somehow manage to post a new blog within a week, when I normally only find time to post once a month!  Ha!  Figures.

Andrew had his weight check on Tuesday, and believe it or not, he didn't gain any weight.  Still 13.5lbs.  Just to rewind a few weeks, Matt and I discontinued his once-a-day rice cereal eating, as it seemed to make him constipated.  We switched to oatmeal cereal and started giving it to him once a day, every other day.  I saw a different pediatrician while ours was on leave and she prescribed Zantac (liquid) for Andrew to help with his reflux and possibly reduce the amount of spitting up he does.  While I feel like some days it DOES help, he still spits up regularly, just not as much.  Coming to the present, after his appointment on Tuesday, she told us to go ahead and start veggies with Andrew, which should help aid in his digestion of the oatmeal cereal.  So we're back to once a day oatmeal cereal feeding, with the addition of veggies!  We were instructed to start with orange veggies (carrots, sweet potatoes, and squash), then green veggies, and then we can do fruits!  I plan to make my own baby food for Andrew, but that isn't exactly ideal while in the midst of relocating our family, so Gerber it is (for now)!

Yesterday was our first attempt with carrots and he LOVED them!  I promised pictures and video several posts ago when I mentioned starting Andrew on 'solid' foods, but never posted any.  Here are some from yesterday's new experience:

 First bite(s)!

I think I like it...

Ok, Mom, I REALLY like it!

I like it so much that I'm really upset that's all I get for today.  :(

Alright, I guess I can be okay with that since I know I'll have some tomorrow.  :)
