Fast Forward 8 Months...

...And I'm pregnant!!  17 weeks and 2 days, to be exact.  After requests from my husband and one of my closest friends, I am returning from my blog hiatus to take you on our journey.  I hope to be able to keep up, we'll see how it goes!

So, backing up just a bit.  Matt and I found out I was expecting back on April 31st.  After going to the doctor to confirm, I found out I was only about 4 weeks pregnant.  We hadn't planned to tell ANYONE (including our family) until after the first trimester, but understandably, we couldn't wait, and told both of our families on Mother's Day.  Towards the end of June at an ultrasound appointment, the doctor said it was probably safe to make our announcement (to everyone else) if we wanted, and of course we did.  So the cat was out of the bag a couple weeks earlier than we planned, but we were thrilled to not have to keep it a secret any longer.

Knock on wood *knock knock*, I have had the most wonderful pregnancy so far.  No morning sickness, no nose bleeds, no bleeding gums, etc.  Besides headaches and heartburn, I've had a fairly symptom-free pregnancy.  Everyone says I should consider myself lucky, and I most certainly do, but it's weird to me to feel perfectly normal... especially since I just now am starting to show, and I have yet to feel the baby move around.  However, medical-wise, everything is good and the baby is healthy, and according to all my reading and the doctor, I should start feeling the baby move in the next couple of weeks.  We should be able to find out the sex of the baby in less than 4 weeks, which of course we are stoked about!  We will let everyone know what the gender is when we find out, however, we will be keeping the name of the little baby a secret until it is born.  :)
Here I am, showing off my growing bump a few days ago!
