Today, we had the privilege of seeing the Space Shuttle Discovery make it's final 'flight' via a 747 into Washington Dulles International Airport to be put on display at the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum. Although we are really looking forward to moving to Ohio, we will miss the opportunity to see the cool stuff like this. I took these photos from our apartment! For weeks we've been planning on where to go to get a good view; however, Andrew had other plans and wanted to be fed ASAP and the Shuttle was arriving 30 minutes earlier than expected, so we weren't able to get out. Honestly, I think we had the best viewing area. No crowds to fight, parking or traffic nightmares, just our own perfect spot. It was really neat to see Discovery taking off in Florida when I was a kid, and now see it's final flight as an adult here in Virginia. Hope you enjoy the photos as much as we enjoyed the experience!
