Had our appointment this morning back at Bethesda National Naval Medical Center to check the distance between my cervix and placenta (which was too close last time). Little baby was not cooperating and was in the way of what we needed to see, so the doctor had to move his head while the ultrasound tech took the photo. They were able to determine that my placenta has moved a safe a distance away, so I am good on that front. However, we were told we have a big baby... now in the 80th percentile. According to the ultrasound measurements, he weighs around 4lbs 3oz. They said he is all overall proportionally larger, which is fine, just that he's just bigger. They checked my amniotic fluid levels again today, which were fine. Just as a precaution, they'd like to see me again in 4 weeks, so I will return on December 6th. They gave us this 4D shot of him with his hand in front of his face. :) So cute!
In other news, I had my glucose test which I mentioned in my last post. My levels came back abnormal (up by 11 points), so I had to do the 3-hour glucose test (even less fun than the first), and those still came back elevated, so I'm now considered a gestational diabetic. Not something I am happy about, and I really don't know much at this point. I was just contacted with the information on Friday. I have to meet with a nutritionist on Thursday, and also pick up my 'diabetic supplies' and be shown how to use my glucose monitor, etc. Then I will record my levels for a certain amount of time and will return with my records and they will determine if my situation is diet-controlled or if I need to be put on medication. Hopefully it will be diet controlled, but time will tell.
I flew back to Florida for my baby shower last weekend, and had a blast. I had not been back to Florida for two years or so. It was great to see a lot of family and friends and see how things have changed since the last time I was there. (Not to mention get some EXCELLENT barbecue - something that is lacking here in Northern Virginia). The shower went off without a hitch, and I hope everyone who was able to come had a great time. It was a crazy time for me; trying to visit and chat with 18 people I haven't seen in two years in a couple hours time, but I wouldn't have changed a thing. :)
One more thing before I go, we wanted to share the progress on the nursery. We've been working hard, and it's coming together. Just a few more finishing touches and we'll be all set!
Of course Pooh had to be in the photo ~ and my apologies for photo-shopping the first two initials out of the photo... it's a secret! Only 10 more weeks till the big reveal. :)

I am waiting for the day when you forget to photoshop the letters. ;) The nursery looks PERFECT!!! I see Matt got his Pack 'N Play! :D
